Ynysowen Male Choir - Aberfan
We are a village choir, orgininating from the coal mining industry in the South Wales valleys. In the wake of the Aberfan Disaster the choir was formed with the intention of raising money for charity as well as a social activity for the local men.
The choir over the years has grown in its popularity not only in the valleys, but throughout Europe, with the choir being invited to perform in many different countries such as Germany, England, Ireland and Spain.
We currently have a wide range of choristers, from many walks of life ranging from men in their twenties to men in their eighties who have been brought together by their love of singing
The choir have performed before the Queen well as appearing on television on several occasions including recent recording for the BBC and S4C (Decrau Canu)
